Volunteer
Today is Thursday, April 30, 2009. Today I did volunteer work whole day. Last year, I did volunteer work in my father’s company. My teacher told us that we should not do volunteer in a same company twice. So I changed my volunteer place this time. Last year, my volunteer work was very hard. At the end of the work, I felt really very tired. So, I changed this year’s volunteer work into an easy work, typing logs.
This time, I worked in a company called ZhenJiang Run Bang TECHNOLOGY. CO. LTD. This company is near my father’s company. I chose this kind of work because I think this work is very suitable for me. Last year, when I worked in our work group, I always finished my part of work because in I was a new work in this group, so my speed was not as fast as this older workers, when this older workers finished their work, they always stop their work and waited me until I finished my own work. I felt very shy and bad. I do not like other people waiting me because myself or be looked because they were waiting me. So this time, I changed my work into typing. I think typing is much easier than the volunteer work I did before.
Today is a sunny day, I arrived the company at half past eight. I walked into an office. Then, a young lady in this office walked toward to me and then asked me what my name was. I answered her. Then, she told me what work I should do. My duty was typed a log. The log called the workers’ log. In the log, I must type the name of the worker, what did the worker come from, how was she/he, where she/he was born, where did the worker lived in, the phone numbers about this workers and the number of this worker’s ID. The young lady told me that it was not an easy work; I should try my best to finish it. At the beginning of the work, I thought the young lady took a joke on me. This job was totally an easy work; I only needed to check the data about each worker in the papers, and then typed this data into the log in the computer. The time is flying, two hours later, I began to feel tired, especially my hands and my eyes. I felt uncomfortable because I kept typing and typing. My hands did not stop to type. My eyes did not stop to watch the screen. I knew why the young lady said that this job was not an easy job for me. At twelve o’clock, I went to have lunch, and then I could have an hour of time to relax. I used computer to finish my homework.
In the afternoon, I started to finish my work. I continued to type my log. I almost did not stop doing it. Finally I finished my work before going of work. I thought I did my job successfully today, I felt very happy. When I arrived, I did not want to anything, I only wanted to sleep.
Although working is tired, but if I can see my result, I will be happy.

Go to St Paul’s Church, NANJING
Today was Sunday 29th March, 2009. I went to St Paul’s church with my friends, Kathleen, Nelly and Winona. When we arrived St Paul’s Church, Ms Bartel and Chairs had been in there. The pastors stood in the front of the room and speak to the audiences.
Ms Bartel told us when we stayed in the Church; we should not speak loudly or do other things, because the god stands around you. First part of it was CALL TO WORSHIP. It means summon people to the sacred world. Then some believers walked to the stage and sang a hymn. This hymn called ROCK OF AGES, CLEFT FOR ME. After that, the leader led us to read responsive reading. The leader said a sentence; then we should an other sentence. Then we learned the SCRIPTURE. The Old Testament is that the reader said: this is the world of the Lord. Then all the people said: Thanks be to God. The New Testament is that the reader said: the Gospel of the Christ. The next part is the leader read THE APOSTLES’ CREED. THE APOSTLES’ CREED told us that the God is our father, the maker of Heaven and Earth. The next part are GLORIA PATRI, THE COLLECT, ANTHEM, SERMON, HYMN: Jesus, I come. After that the leader read THE LORD’S PRAYER for us. At the end of it, we sang a song together called Amen. We spent about 2 hours in it.
All of us thought it was really meaningful event for us.

Today is Saturday 24th April. We had to cook food together. This activity was organized by the GCA teachers.
There were about six people in our group, the leader of us was a French student called Max. Our topic food is a fritter. First of all we had to by some materials. First we went to market to buy some flour. We bought about 250 grams flour. Then we went to supermarket to buy some sugar, salt, eight eggs and a bottle of milk. Then we went buck to the classroom. When we began to cook, we found that we forgot to buy some oil and plates. I ran to supermarket to buy it. When I came, we began to cook again. First we put the 250 grams into a big bowl, and then we put three eggs above the flour, and then put some salt in it. After that, then we put the milk little by little and stirred them at the same time. We had stirred them at last 10 minutes. It became to paste. After that, we could have a relax time for half an hour because the paste need half an hour to set. Half an hour later, we had to continue to work. We found a pan, put some oil into the pan and heated it for a little time. When the pan began to hot, we pushed the paste into the pan and made it like a circle. 5 minutes later, we had to turn it to the other surface. Some minutes later, a yummy fritter had been down.
We were all very happy because of our product.

I went to watch a modern drama last year with my friends Kathleen, Nelly and Winona.
This drama was designed by the drama club. The mean characters are Fan, Cherry from grade 12, and some support form grade 10 and 11. This drama called XunHanJi. It is a very famous comedy written by the famous English writer, William Shakespeare. The story is very funny. It tell us a story about a fierce girl, she is very crazy, so no men want to marry her but she has a beautiful, and gentle younger sister, a lot of men want to marry her, but her sister can not marry with anyone before her order sister have been married because of the law. Suddenly , a brave young man want to marry the older sister, he also want to train his wife to a gentle woman, but every people laughed at him and thought that he is such a poor man. On their wedding day, the bridegrooms wear a broken cloth and said a lot of bad words to the priest. The bride even wanted to cry. After that, the man often argued to his wife, and did not allow his wife slept at night. Some days later, the woman became very gentle. She does everything her husband tells her to do. Her sister also married with a gentleman some months later.
I think it is a perfect performance. All the actors tried their best for the performance. I even wanted to watch this performance again.

Go to an Exhibition by yourself (or with your friends/family)

I went to visit an exhibition with my friends on March 8th .The exhibition that we had been to was an exhibition that showed chinas, and Jades .This exhibition was showed on NanJing museum. The friends that went to visit it were :Winona, Kathleen and Nelly .
We arrived the gate of NanJing Museum at nine o'clock .NanJing Museum is very large and beautiful. We can don not pay for the ticket of this exhibition because we are students. The most of thing the exhibition showed were chinas and jades. We visited chinas first .I think chinas are very beautiful. Chinese people created chinas long long ago. So, chinese chinas was very famous around the world . My favourite china is Blue and White Porcelain there. I think Blue and White Porcelain is very beautiful because it is very limpid and clarity. The decorative pattern on the body of the Blue and White Porcelain is blue or cyan. There were a lot of kinds of Blue and White Porcelain in this exhibitions. There were Blue and White Porcelain'bowls, Blue and White Porcelain's vase in the exhibition.
Then we visited the jades. The people lived in the ancient very loved jades ,all of them thought that jades could bring them luke and riches.So, after a person died ,people should put some jades in the coffin of the dead person. Some of rich men even made clothes that made of jades.
We had been in the exhibition for 1 hours. All of us thought that this exhibitions was very valuable.

Eat with friends
I ate with my friends on January 14th .We had lunch in a restaurant called TACOS.All of us think this restaurant is very good ,so we went to it .My friends were Winona ,Kathleen, Nelly.We went to this restaurant together.
When we arrived the restaurant ,a waiter went to us and asked us :What can I do for you ? We said that :We want to eat food there .The waiter said :OK, please follow me .Then she leaded us to a seat which is next to a window .
We began to chose the food .Winona and me chose a Pizza ,called Hawaii Pizza. Nelly and Kathleen chose another Pizza ,called Classics Pizza. After that we chose a fruit salad. Four of us also chose a big cup of Coca Cola.
The first food arrived our table was the fruit salad .There were a lot of kinds of fresh fruit in the fruit salad .there were apples ,watermelons ,strawberry, pears and mangos......
Fifteen minutes later my Hawaii Pizza arrived .I loved this Pizza because it was made of cheese , ham and mushroom.I thought this Hawaii Pizza was very delicious . Five minutes later Nelly and Kathleen's Classics Pizza arrived the table .I ate a piece of their pizza ,I thought Classics Pizza was not as yummy as Hawaii Pizza .
The last food that arrived was this cup of Coca Cola.
Because we ate in TACOS between 1;00 to 5:00 ,so we can only paid half money of this food. I thought it was very cheap for us .We only spent about 50 RMB.

VOLUNTEER
I did volunteer work on January 20, 2009. I worked in ZHENJIANG HANBANG LIMITED COMPANY. I worked there for 10 hours.
I arrived the company at 8 am. I began to work at 8.20am .My work was very simple. My work was to insert 5 circuit components into a board. I think it was easy for me to finish. There was a long table in front of me .There were about 10 people sit next to the table. They were a group; I was a member of the group.
I think if you did this work, you must be very organized and activity because you worked in a group, every one had their own work .For example, when the first people finished her own part of the product, she should pass the produce to the people who sit next her and then she would finish her part of the second people. If the second person finished her part of the produce her would also pass the produce to the third person and began to finish her part of the second produce, and go on. If one member of this group did not finished her part of the work on time, all people on the group would have no worked to do, all people would wait this person to finish her work. I think if I was this person I will feel very terrible because the entire member in this group are looking at you and waiting you. But if you worked too fast ,the people sit next you may have no enough time to finish her work .So after that I learned that If we work in a group ,we should learn how to organize time ,no too fast and too slow , we must think more about other people and think less about ourselves.
At the beginning of the work, I thought this work was very easy for me, but 2 hours after I felt very bored and tired. I hope the time can fly.
I had lunch at 11:40 am .I would continue to work 30 minutes later.
When I began to work at after, I felt terrible. I did not want to work any more because I felt very bored and tired. But I knew that I could not give up, because I was a member in the group. If I give up my work ,other person may can not finish the work .So , I continue to work .
At the end of today, I finished all my work .I felt very happy. I learned a lot of things today; we may be able to not learn this kind of things form our books for example organized and work for a group. So, I thought the volunteer work was very meaningful.
I hope we can have more activities like that, and we and learn more meaningful knowledge form this kind of activity.
